(P1607) - BHP BFX Asset Integrity and Maintenance Review
AE Projects is undertaking the Olympic Dam BFX project Asset Integrity & Maintenance Strategy study as planning component of the proposed $2.75 billion Brownfields Expansion. This significant planning work scope assesses the operational life and risk categorises all of the existing mine material handling, processing plant and associated infrastructure for life extension use under the broader BFX project scope. Multi-discipline expert inspections coupled with mine & process plant integrity and maintenance report information will inform an expert report detailing Olympic Dam infrastructure asset criticality, capacity, remaining life and recommended sustaining and life extension actions and cost estimates. The AE Projects report will be used by the asset owner as basis data in the planning and prioritisation the BFX prefeasibility options.
(P1404.010) - Nyrstar Coal Grinding
AE Projects completed multi-discipline engineering design and construction support services for the Nyrstar Port Pirie Lead Smelter Expansion project. AE Projects completed detailed design of the 30m tall clad coal grinding structure including materials handling and pneumatic conveying. The scope included the 3d model development and constructability aspects of the steel framing and deep piled concrete foundations.
(P1589) – Mt Isa Mine Black Rock Open Cut Mount Isa Copper Operations Relocation Feasibility Study
AE Projects completed an infrastructure and associated services relocation/decommissioning review for the Glencore Mt Isa Mine. The review required pre-feasibility options to be developed to preliminary level designs and installation costed to formed part of the Black Rock Open Pit resource development feasibility tollgate deliverable. The study included relocation assessment of the; mine control centre and other mine operations buildings, mine substation and HV transmission infrastructure, process and potable water storage, roads and parking areas.
(P1622) - Newcrest Cadia Molybdenum Plant Project Design Review
AE Projects facilitated technical specialist advisory engagement via senior staff secondment to Newcrest Cadia site in order to support owner’s team reviews of the molybdenum process plant design.
(P1502) - QCoal Byerwen Mine Power Plant Study
AE Projects completed a High Voltage (HV) power supply upgrade options study as part of the QCoal Byerwen Mine project prefeasibility study. The upgrade study focused on the existing HV switchyard, overhead lines and substation facilities. Study scope included data collection, civil design, fault analysis, earthling and lightning protection analysis and arc flash study.
(P1608) - QCoal Byerwen Power Supply Implementation
AE Projects completed a High Voltage (HV) power supply upgrade preliminary design study which focused on the HV infrastructure as part of the QCoal Byerwen Project feasibility study. The scope included the following design and costing elements 66kV Supply to site, 66kV and 11kV Reticulation around Site and associated distribution infrastructure.
